Just posing some JR East emergency vehicles in front of the maintenance garage.

Do you guys like barrels, Well I do.

And on Thingiverse, someone else likes them too so they left a .stl with a barrel for me to print. But who's going to print one lonely barrel not me, I'm going to print a whole bunch of them like the ones below. Here is a link to the barrel file on Thingiverse, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4284599

Barrier Bunnies on deck

Today the barrier bunnies showed up some of them came out ok some didn't. I think if they were printed in resin the detail would be much better what do you think. Theres an N-scale Preiser figure for size comparison.

I tried honestly I did.

It's not too bad I guess as a worker car on the MOW train. This is an Aru Models Very easy wooden bogie passenger car/wooden bogie passenger car. It really wasn't too bad to assemble I got a couple of steps wrong and had to improvise some fixes that worked.

Kato EF64-1000 Details added

On the tail of the EF200 detail additions, I decided to work on the EF64-1000 from Kato. I added couplers, Grab Irons, Hoses, Number boards, Spark Arrestors and GPS units. It was fun I tell you, I did lose a grab iron and spark arrestor lol.

The EF200 Twins Photoshoot

After putting number boards and grab irons on both locos I decided to do a little photoshoot of the 2 EF200's

We've got number boards too!!!!

I wasn't joking around when I said I was thinking about installing number boards so I went ahead and installed EF200-3 number boards on the front and sides of the locomotives.

January 19, 2024

Weve got grab irons lol

I've always wanted to install the supplied grab irons on my locomotives now that I've done them successfully I will be doing it more often, Did I do a good job. Next are number boards that can't be too bad right?

Possibly my biggest N scale purchase ever lol.

Today my Evergreen 12" X 24" styrene corrugated siding showed up today, I think this is my largest purchase for N scale. I put my size 14 New Balance sneaker on the siding since I don't have a banana to compare it with.

The week in review

This week I did a little work on the trains, I cleaned up the diorama,
and organized stuff. I got some brass windows off of eBay this week and installed some knuckle couplers. I also built most of the GreenMax Maintenance Garage too. I modeled a few cellphone towers in Tinkercad.

January 16, 2024

Whats next cellphone towers?

Yeah, I guess so in this week's "What's new in 3D modeling" of course I have no expertise in 3D modeling let alone 3D cellphone tower modeling. So I saw some stuff on the internet and made a 3D rendering of it. I don't think it looks too bad maybe I'll even send it off to get printed who knows? The newest towers are copies of the real thing in Charleston South Carolina USA and yes they look like toilet paper rolls lol.

The Bunny Barriers have been printed

Yup, I just got a notification that the Bunny Barriers  have been printed and shipped. If you don't know what a Bunny Barrier is it is a cute animal could be a bunny it could be a frog or a duck. In Japan, they are used in areas where barriers are needed usually around construction sites, etc. So being I like Japanese items I decided to get some barrier bunnies printed since I don't think that they're made commercially. Check out the thing here https://japantoday.com/category/picture-of-the-day/bunny-barrier

Working on the GreenMax Train Maintinance Garage

Well at first I didn't like this structure I thought it was dated and probably wouldn't fit into my timeframe which is modern day. But after playing around with it the structure grew on me and when I started putting it together I liked it even more. Below are some pictures of the kit in various stages of assembly and it is not complete or painted. I built this structure to my specifications so it looks nothing like the other pictures you may see. I plan to add an inspection walkway to the maintenance garage as soon as I find the material needed which I give credit to this video its pretty simple some styrene and brass handrails, I may also use the brass Aru inspection stand that I purchased recently.

New Japanese N Scale gear from Japan

Today's arrival is a lot even for me lol, I think I got a lot of everything I got items that I wanted like the Cosmic workstand and the Aru brass kits I am pretty psyched about that. I got some clear Kato display tracks I always see them on some YouTuber's channels. I also received a GreenMax Enginehouse plus a couple of Kato Japanese Tokis and a special TOMIX Koki. I also got several pantographs for the Aru brass kits and trucks. I purchased an Aru model Inspection walkway for an engine house I guess. Finally, I got another Kato EF200 All in all it was a nice package to get, but I'm not sure where to start with it all.

The HVAC's are here!!!!

And they look good, I have a sample HVAC on a small building next to an N scale figure for size comparison and I must say the HVAC looks gigantic next to him but realistically so. And the ladder looks good as well I think.

3D printed Barriacade Bunnies, YES!!!!!

Barricade bunnies are a thing in Japan and so are barricade frogs too..

Once I finalize the 3D models I'll send them to the online 3D printer to be printed in Hot Pink. I can't wait until they are ready to be printed. I'll post post pics of the Bunnies once I have a minute.

The shell is on the EF200 finally!!!!

I have a Kato EF200 that I installed a Digitrax DN163K0 decoder, The decoder install was a breeze but I couldn't fit the shell onto the chassis because of the decoder. I needed to modify the shell to make room for the chips on the decoder. I dreaded doing the modification because I was scared of messing up the shell. It's been more than 5 months since I installed the decoder but today was the day to do it so I grabbed the trusty Dremel and Xacto knife and started hacking away. Yes, everything fits and the shell is nice and secure, Glorious pics below for your viewing pleasure. Talk about coincidences look at the color of the Dremel tool and the EF200 wow so strange.
